Volunteering with UNRWA USA

Volunteering with UNRWA USA is a meaningful opportunity to turn your support for Palestine refugees into action.

The Gaza 5K is our signature event, held in cities across the United States. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for individuals located in or near our upcoming 2026 host cities—Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA; and New York City—who want to play an integral role in the success of each Gaza 5K by providing essential logistical and outreach support.

We are currently seeking volunteers for our upcoming Gaza 5K in Dallas, Texas.

The Dallas Gaza 5K will take place on Saturday, May 16th.

We’re looking for volunteers aged 18+ to support our Dallas Gaza 5K on Saturday, May 16, 2026. We have a variety of on-site roles available:

Volunteer Roles

  • Crowd Control: Help direct attendee arrivals and keep morning lines organized.

  • Food & Beverage: Assist with breakfast set-up, manage the coffee/tea station, replenish supplies, and maintain cleanliness (including waste/recycling).

  • Fundraising Prizes: Distribute awards and prizes to top fundraisers.

  • Packet Pick-Up: Hand out race bibs and bags—perfect for detail-oriented volunteers!

  • Photo Booth: Set up the booth, engage participants, and encourage social media sharing to keep the energy high.

  • Water Station (Halfway Point): Prepare and distribute water along the race route.

  • Advocacy & Awareness: Support activities that raise awareness about Palestine refugees and UNRWA programs.

  • Photography/Videography: Capture event highlights, volunteer moments, and race-day energy for social media and future promotions.

Tell us a bit about yourself so we can match your skills and interests with the right role!

“I volunteered with UNRWA USA
at the Gaza 5K as a way to
support the Palestinian people.

What is beautiful about the 5K
is that people of all backgrounds
unite in solidarity with
Palestine refugees by engaging
in community and running for a cause.

The event evokes the resilience
and hope embedded in
Palestinian culture, and it's crucial
that we as a global community support the Gaza 5K and the
UNRWA mental health program
as a form of allyship,
showing Palestinians that we care.”
